Yeah, More Like WHINE Flu

Looks like we've got a worldwide epidemic on our hands!! The likes of which we've never seen! It shakes your immune system like it owes the virus money. What is this mystery flu that's killing Americans left and right? Wait, you're telling me it's NOT killing  untold thousands in the United States? Just in Mexico? I could have sworn we had a gigantic epidemic from some outer-space virus on our hands!

Well don't let Twitter and CNN dictate your hare-trigger reaction to this outbreak. While there is a legitimate outbreak of Swine Flu in the world, it's much less serious than the news outlets/crazy mob would lead you to believe. As of the writing of this article, there has been one (repeat: ONE) confirmed death related to the disease. And it wasn't anyone you knew. So calm down, please.

Believe it or not, there was a previous outbreak of a very same caliber...in 1976. Was there widespread panic? Maybe. Did anything come of it? Unlikely. Somehow, people went on surviving. Manhattan never got evacuated, zombies never roamed the streets, and no one had to get shot off into space in order to carry out the lineage of our race. Learning it's happened before, in modern times, kinda sucks the immediacy out of the whole situation, no?
