Hallow-Xmas-Tober

Posted by movieguyjon

Black Christmas

Starting this Thursday, we're going to be doing commentary for scary films set on or around the holiday season in what I'd like to call "Hallow-Xmas-Tober." Our first film on the itinerary is a classic: Gremlins, in which a young boy doesn't heed sage advice and feeds cute little animals. Also during this coming month we'll be checking out other scary Christmas films such as Black Christmas (the original) and others that we haven't decided on! So, wrap your presents early and get ready to stuff your stockings with the shit we'll be scaring out of you as we begin "Hallow-Xmas-Tober!"

Yeah, it's kind of a dumb name. Want to make something of it?!

Some Changes Coming To TCC

Posted by movieguyjon

Hello, people. Just thought I would distract you briefly from your awesome Saturday and fill you in on some changes coming to the TCC site. Since our start in February of this year, it's been the plan for us to expand and improve upon both the podcast itself and the user experience on the site. Also, we've given considerable thought to ways in which we can defer hosting costs and get more cool shit your way. Hence, these changes.

Amazon Links

When you see affiliate links on a website, I'm sure your first thought is "ZOMG LAME ARG CLICK AWAY CLICK AWAY." Well, hopefully our amazon links don't give you the same reaction. We've placed a link to buy the DVD we do commentary on next to the film's info and "commentary play" button. This way, if you like the commentary and want to see the movie in question, you can just click straight through and buy it. And since it's an affiliate link, we can get a little kick back for recommending such an awesome (or craptastic) film to you. There's no mouse-over popups to worry about, just a good ole' clickable link. Check it out, buy the movies, and become part of the conversation!

Schwag

It's our plan in the coming months to start up a TCC store where you can get cool Technicolor shit and show off to your friends and neighbors how "hip" and "with it" you truly are. Since all three of us draw and have experience in the graphic arts, the possibilities are endless. Keep an eye out for the store and prepare to lose your money...I mean...invest wisely. :)

Site Re-design

Planning has begun to revamp the site's look and make it more user friendly. As it stands right now, our site is pretty good, but it's not quite TECHNICOLOR GOOD, which is where we want things to be. Stuff like header images, sidebars, themes, widgets, etc. are going to get some kind of overhaul.

Thanks for sticking with us jokers for 26 episodes so far. You ain't seen nothin' yet!

New TCC Stuff

Posted by movieguyjon

Technicolor Commentary has news for you, which you'll most certainly enjoy! We've added a new community page to the site where you can discuss the latest in film commentary and heckle the gang as they record the latest episode. From that page you'll also be able to go to the ustream page and participate in future live shows (another of which is in the books)! You'll need to create an account with friendfeed if you want to participate, but it's just as simple as creating a user name and password and clicking submit! Hope to see you there!

Also coming this week will be an experimental feature for TCC. This week's episode will have both a podcast version and a commentary version, which you can sync up by using VLC media player or even your DVD player program on your computer. I say experimental because I'll be setting up the commentary version as a torrent, which you can download and share with everybody. This feature's success depends on YOU!

That's all for now. Hope you enjoy all this TCC newness!
