It would seem as if there has been injustice in the TCC universe! Someone killed Tom and buried him in a basement in Logan Square...near the Metra (thanks a lot guys, now I'm a GHOST!). But no worries, his widowed lover joins us this week to channel him (poorly) and keep our spirits alive during this tough time of sad commentary and delightful musings. (Wait....wut?)

Upon returning from our fateful mission to Mars, we were given a rather large doll as a reward. I warned that the gift could be dangerous, but my comrades dismissed this as paranoia and decided to keep it. And then Chucky killed them.
Well, not really.
As it turned out, Graham knew Voodoo and did some weird magic chant thingy. Instantly the doll evaporated, but not before tossing a copy of Child's Play at us. We then watched it, giving insightful commentary as we are want to do.

This week on TCC, the gang decided to go up into space to explore Mars. While there, they discovered an alien race believed to be the ancestors of actor Gary Sinise. They also found Gary Sinise, but he wasn't very welcoming. Not to have their adventures ruined by such a sour-puss, the gang partied it up mars style and created this orgy of an episode just for you! Enjoy.

This was a pick from Mike Nayyar, who doesn't have a blog, but if you put his name at the end of any social website url, you'll find him. Anyway, this film is directed by James Cameron and is really effing long.

Episode 23: Eff You Dyke

Wet Hot American Summer!!! A totally random comedy about a sleep-away camp, and their horny campers and councilors. What I like best about this movie is the collaboration of two sketch comedy teams. For those of you who are too young to remember it, MTV's The State was a fun late night sketch comedy team featuring silly characters and movie parodies.
The State never made it past two seasons and was cut short too soon, but luckily the members moved on to some great projects (Reno 911, Night at the Museum, I Love the 80s). Here they team up with some SNL veterans for a fun summer romp. If you know the sense of humor coming from these comedy greats, you'll know not to expect a serious plot, character development, or a conventional sequence of events.
One thing I really like about this movie is the 80s movie parodies that occur throughout the film. This movie pokes fun at a lot of 80s movie clichés: a cheesy motorcycle chase, a ragtag baseball team pepped by a rousing speech from coach, and the main plot of the goofy guy getting the girl away from her hot jerk boyfriend. Of course, nothing works out the way you expect. The only thing you can expect from Wet Hot American Summer is a good laugh with a group of friends.
