The Alice in Wonderland Trailer

Well look at that: The first trailer for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" re-imagining is out. I was quite surprised to see it appear so soon, and with so much footage. This early in the game I expect maybe a few striking visuals and perhaps some quirky soundbytes, but not much beyond that. Here we've got some quick footage of a ton of characters, copious amounts of the Cheshire Cat and (obviously) The Mad Hatter. Speaking of, which delightfully whimsical voice will you be putting on for us this time, Johnny Depp? Awkward British? Perfect.

Let's open this one up to debate: What do you think? Personally I'm a little cautious of Burton (especially his latest trend of "re-imaginings") after the heavy letdown of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. But who knows? This might really be something. Then again, you have to ask yourself why a committee decided that this property needed ANOTHER adaptation at all. But hey, The Queen has a big head and a tiny body! That's cool, right? Actually, I think it looks pretty amazing...

PS Who else was surprised by the release date? I've been hearing so damn much about this movie I expected it to be out this winter, not next March. Guess there's an even larger onslaught of marketing in the coming months.
