Thoughts on The Princess and the Frog?

Haven't really paid much attention to the buzz surrounding Disney's The Princess and the Frog, but based off of the clips presented here, it looks "pretty." I'm sure my buddies @calamityensues and @thegreatredhope can offer more insight into this flick, as I've heard them discuss this on occasion. What do you guys think? Are you excited about Disney returning to an older style of animation or do you think Disney would be better served sticking to Pixar flicks?

I am so completely thrilled that they’re returning to traditional animation. I’ve always liked their traditional animation LOADS better than the 3D stuff. Not that pixar is bad, they’re good at what they do, I just don’t necessarily enjoy it that much.

Anyway, I think the movie is going to be good but that cajun firefly still freaks me the fuck out.

What little I saw of the firefly in the video kind of bothered me. Other than that, it will be interesting to see how a new 2D animated Disney cartoon holds up against the normal Pixar fare, box office wise.

I hope it does well, because I much prefer it over what Pixar and Dreamworks have been doing.

It all comes down to the writing. Personally, if it’s got a bad story and terrible character development, I don’t care how nice the animation is.

But then again, I’m thrilled it’s traditional. :)
